Five of the most expensive Christmas presents

While you work out your budget for Christmas and what you can spend on gift giving – let’s take a look at some of the most expensive presents ever.
Let’s start with man’s best friend and a collar that would outdo any of Snoop Dogg’s gold chains. The Amour, Amour Dog Collar is white gold and features 1,600 diamonds including a 7-carat centrepiece. This little beauty set the owner back US$3.2 million.
Talk about a pampered pooch! Maybe a blinged out mobile is more suitable? Brikk, a Los Angeles-based company has modified the Apple iPhone 7 to include gold, diamond and platinum designs. These mobile ‘art works’ range from US$4,995 to US$1.3 million.
Some other gifts that caught our eye were the Dolce & Gabbana’s DG2027B Sunglasses for US$383,609, Heels by Christopher Michael Shellis for US $383,609 and lastly France’s Christmas gift to the USA, The Statue of Liberty – top that!
Although we would like to give our loved ones the world at Christmas, most of us are on a budget and our recent Smart Santa Survey highlighted 86% of Australians find the festive season puts a strain on their finances – with buying gifts dubbed as the biggest cause of financial pressure. Fear not…half of all Aussies also told us they’d be happy with a second-hand gift and three-quarters would consider buying a second hand or vintage Christmas present this year – that’s sure to put a smile on your face and more money in your back pocket.
If you’re looking to shop affordably and locally this Christmas, then think Gumtree for your presents.
